The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is an upcoming American film adaptation of the novel of the same name (Swedish Original Title: Män som hatar kvinnor, "Men Who Hate Women") by the late Swedish author/journalist Stieg Larsson, the first book in his "Millennium series", directed by David Fincher
Story Plot:
Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer), the uncle of a missing woman, who is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit family, employs a disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) and a tattooed computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) to investigate.

September 30, 2010 – Christopher Plummer (The Last Station, Priest) has been cast in ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’. Plummer will play the patriarch of the Vanger family with dark secrets in David Fincher’s U.S. adaptation. (THR)
August 16, 2010 – Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara have been cast in the lead roles of Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy under the direction of David Fincher. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – the first film of the series, which also includes The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest – begins shooting next month in Sweden.
