With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.
When I first heard about the title "Immortals", I never thought it is a Mythology film about gods and goddesses. I still prefer the previous titles that they gave this film. If you love Greek Mythology you'll definitely love this film. Mythology film are becoming rare, and the last film that I saw about mythology is "Clash of the Titan" that stars Tom Worthington and directed by Louis Leterrier. Although this film "Immortals" is the first film about mythology for Singh, it was also the first mythology film for Leterrier when he made the Clash of the Titan. Let's just hope Singh can deliver the same film as Leterrier did.
About Henry Cavill, he is now casts as the next "man-of-steel" on the upcoming Superman film on 2011.
NEWS & UPDATES:
- The mythological film is being produced with advanced techniques of cinematography experts. Using mixed reality equipment, the film aims to create scenes showing the manifest exploits of the mythical hero, Theseus. According to legend, Theseus is the being who founded and rules the capital of Athens. Theseus is a well-known figure in mythology, and his fame became legend with the victorious battles won during his many exploits. Among the great conquests of this film is the battle of Theseus against the Minotaur.
- Most of the production details are held back until the premiering. This movie incorporates Classical Greek legend filmed using the most advanced for the time 3D technology, and necessitating extensive post production. Early development was convoluted also, and was touted by some to potentially be a modern mythological blockbuster film with special effects and in HD. Director Tarsem Singh tells that he is planning an action movie to be a visual masterpiece using renaissance painting styles. He then goes on to say that he is "...kind of going for a very contemporary look on top of that so I'm kind of going with, you know, Renaissance time with electricity... a bit like Baz Luhrmann doing Romeo + Juliet in Mexico; it's just taking a particular Greek tale and half (make it contemporary) and telling it." Stephen Dorff has described the movie as " Gladiator meets 300". On March 11, 2011, it was announced that Tarsem Singh, Mark Canton, Gianni Nunnari, Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz and Isabel Lucas would be holding a panel discussion and present the first footage of the movie at WonderCon from April 1 to April 3.
