About the film:
Thiis film was originally titled "The Guardians of Childhood" based on the book written by William Joyce who will also direct this film. They later change the title to Rise of the Guardians to be more catchy. Rise of the Guardians is a computer-animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and due for release on November 21, 2012. It is being directed by Peter Ramsey and co-directed by William Joyce (also the creator of Rolie Polie Olie and Meet the Robinsons, and is being described as "a contemporary fairytale based on existing fairytale characters").

In this animated film, the heroes from different childhood stories will join force to fight againts Pitch the Boogeyman from taking over the world by inspiring fear in the heart of kids. This heroes are Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost.

Originally, the film was set to be released on November 2, 2012, but DreamWorks Animation pushed the film to November 21, 2012 to avoid competition with Pixar's upcoming film Monsters, Inc. 2 which had been pushed to November 2, 2012 to avoid competition with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

This is the second film Dakota Goyo and Hugh Jackman is cast in the same film. First is at Real Steel where they played father and son.
